The success of our hand-picked Palio-ETT range has created an attractive market for fakes and copycats.
Many unauthorised sellers produce cheaper, inferior bats which claim to be our trademarked Expert Table Tennis bats. Others simply sell similar-looking (standard) Palio bats and mislead customers by using our product descriptions.
The result? An increasing number of dissatisfied customers, purchasing products they didn’t intend to.
In this post we aim to help steer potential customers well clear of fake Palio Expert Table Tennis bats. That way you’ll always receive precisely what you wanted: a high quality Expert Table Tennis bat, built from selected Palio components.
1. Avoid Unauthorised Sellers
It’s simple: the easiest way to avoid purchasing a fake Expert Table Tennis bat is to buy directly from us, using this website, or by following any of the links provided on the Expert Table Tennis blog.
There’s no other prominent Europe-based Palio website out there — so we’re easy to find. Always visit PalioETT.com, then buy your authentic bat:
- Through of our official online outlets on Amazon or eBay, or
- Directly via this website.
Either way, we’ll process your payment and dispatch your order immediately.
2. Look For Our Registered Trademark
All official ETT bats bare our trademarked name: “Expert Table Tennis”.
If you own an official bat you’ll find our name visibly printed onto the plastic badge embedded within the handle. It is illegal for any table tennis products — whether they’re made from Palio parts or not — to use the ‘Expert Table Tennis’ name.
Expert Table Tennis is the originator and only seller of the Expert/Master/Legend 2.0 & 3.0 — sometimes referred to online as “Palio ETT” or “Palio x ETT” bats. We sell them directly to customers through our own seller accounts only.
Note that Palio itself is not our trademark; it’s our supplier. So there are many other legitimate Palio bats outside of our range. Authorised Palio sellers (ourselves included) are entitled to use Palio branding on their products.
Just remember: if there’s no trademark name “Expert Table Tennis” on the bat, then it’s not from us.
3. Familiarise Yourself With Our Range
We currently offer just the four types of bats. Nothing more.
Be aware that several other table tennis equipment sellers intentionally use words and phrases to mimic the Expert Table Tennis brand. For example, they might:
- Copy our entire product description and use it to describe another Palio bat outside of our range.
- Append the number “2” to their product title to mimic our second generation format (e.g. “Palio Expert 2-ANOTHERNAME”.
- Describe their product as an “expert table tennis bat” or “expert’s table tennis bat”.
- Use the words “expert”, “master”, and “legend” in their product title/description.
- Claim to be the next generation of our popular range (e.g. “Palio Legend 2019 Edition”, “Palio Legend 3” or “Palio Legend 4“).
We can’t speak for the quality or service provided by all other sellers. But in our experience, those that have adopted copycat tactics have tended to provide cheaper, lower spec products and a poor customer service.
