The new & improved Palio Expert 2.0 builds on the success of the original ‘Palio Expert’. The Palio Expert 2.0 is the perfect bat for those learning the game. It enables players to produce a high amount of spin, and execute the basic techniques & strokes with ease. It truly plays like a custom table tennis bat.
Rubbers
The ITTF approved Palio CJ8000 rubbers included on the Palio Expert 2.0 are renowned for their ability to generate spin while maintaining high levels of control and feeling. This is due to their softer sponge and tacky topsheet, which enables players to produce topspin, backspin and sidespin with ease.
Blade
The all wood Palio Expert 2.0 blade has been completely redesigned, improving both quality and feeling. It features a flared handle that’s very comfortable to hold and provides maximum control. This helps players to improve their accuracy and keep more balls on the table.

If you look at the one star reviews on every product you’ll never buy one. Now here is an honest unbiased review.
First of all it is worth buying, whether or not you are a beginner. It is one of the best you can get at the price.
Smashing: 9/10 (VERY GOOD)
Accuracy: 10/10 (Just like any other good bat)
Grip: 9/10 (Will stick to the case at first but case opens fully anyway, it’s been months and it’s not sticky anymore but the grip is still there and great)
Spin: 8/10 (Can spin REALLY well)
Comfort: 6/10, great to use but if you sweat in your hands a lot like me then the handle can start to ridge since it is wooden.
Around 1mm of padding has peeled off the wood but it does not effect play AT ALL. Seriously, it doesn’t. I saw a review which said it’s useless now.. some people. I have used my bat 4 times a week for hours at a time for like 3 months and it still looks like the picture on Amazon (handle is a little more grey from sweat).
Terrific first bat, it’s light and powerful. Terrific 2nd and 3rd bat too, just a great bat, but if i had the money I would upgrade to one which costs around £120-150. I would pay £80 for this bat.

This bat was recommended to me by my table tennis coach. I’m pleased I took his advice and purchased it because it really is a great starting point for a beginner.
At first I noticed the rubbers were a lot faster than standard, lower quality bats (the types you’ll find in sports shops). For a couple of sessions I really struggled to keep the ball on the table, and kept playing it too long. So that was a bit of a challenge to overcome. But if anyone experiences this, just keep on persevering with your technique. Because once you start getting those shots on the table and gaining more control, you’ll become a much better player for it.
The spin I can create using this bat is also highly satisfying, and easy to execute. I don’t know loads about rubbers/blades, but my more experienced friends had a play on mine out of curiosity and thought that it felt up to the levels of much more expensive models they had used/built a couple of years back when they started out. They were impressed. So it seems like a wise choice.
I’ve had to slightly tack the rubbers down at the edge a couple of times. But then so has just about everyone else at my club who owns their own custom bat. No major surgery required. That’s just part and parcel of being a regular player.
All in all, for the £30 price point, and free delivery, the Expert 2 is a small investment for a player looking to improve (without venturing into bats above their class). I’m not quite at the level I want to be yet – but when I am i’ll look to upgrade to the Master 2. Hopefully within the next few months 🙂
Keep up the good work, ETT!
